100 Bowls of Compassion

Washington, DC, like every American city, has a homelessness problem. Do you care? Do you want to help the homeless or would you rather just ignore them? Every year Miriam’s Kitchen, a DC non-profit that offers services and food to the homeless, holds a 100 Bowls of Compassion gala where they tell the stories of their guests and help raise money and awareness about homelessness. Watch this video and submit the name of a friend or family member who “needs to know” about Miriam’s Kitchen and 100 Bowls. This seems like a strange campaign to me but I guess that's the point - to make people think about the issue. Entries are due by April 27, 2009. Mariam's Kitchen will be picking 2 people out of all the submitted names and “bowling” their office, house or car.

So, what do think? Would you send in the name of a friend or an enemy?
